Soooo…. It’s been a while since I’ve seriously updated this blog.
I feel like I’ve been present for several iterations of historical costuming online spaces. Obviously I’m doing the YouTube thing now, and back when blogs were The Thing I had this. And then before that, I had a LiveJournal (anyone remember Dress Diaries? God I miss Dress Diaries). I know I’m dating myself there, and it feels weird sometimes to be one of the older creators in the historical clothing world.
One of the things I keep seeing is a frustration that tutorials and information seem to be primarily (if not solely) available in video form. And while I do love videos (I’m rather contractually obligated at this point), I can see where people are coming from. Sometimes I just want to read a walkthrough, not have to sit through a twenty minute video for the thirty seconds of content I need.
So I think I’m going to be starting to post here again. At first it’s just going to be blog versions of my videos (starting with a backlog I already have written up) with extra bits and process pics. And then maybe I’ll start adding some more things, I dunno. I kind of miss how chatty and informal this all felt back in the day. I’m open to suggestions and requests for post ideas.
I guess I’m back.
